The Challenge

A fragmented market with
no infrastructure.

The Israeli student market lacked a structured, trustworthy platform for connecting students with academic professionals. Students struggling with theses, SPSS analyses, seminar papers, translations, and CS projects had no reliable way to find qualified help — and skilled academics had no professional channel to offer their expertise beyond informal, word-of-mouth referrals.

The core pain points ran deeper than simple discovery. There was no centralized workflow for project submission, bidding, and assignment — each transaction depended on private negotiations with no accountability. No trust mechanism existed to protect either party: no ratings, no verified role credentials, no structured payment model to ensure supplier commitment. Both students and suppliers were operating without a safety net.

Managing the diversity of the market compounded the challenge: 12 academic disciplines and 9 project types each came with different scoping requirements, deadlines, word counts, and budgets. Any platform that wanted to serve this market properly had to accommodate that complexity without making the experience cumbersome for either students or professionals.

Without a structured platform, every academic assistance engagement was a leap of faith — students couldn't verify expertise, suppliers couldn't guarantee payment, and an entire market was held together by informal trust that didn't scale.

Three roles. One platform.
Every project, tracked.

We designed and built Acadu as a full-stack web application with distinct role-based experiences for three types of users: Students, Suppliers, and Admins. Each surface is purpose-built for its audience — students move through a guided multi-step submission form, suppliers browse, bid on, and manage their active assignments, and admins oversee every corner of the platform with full moderation and reporting tools.

A credit system sits at the centre of the supplier engagement model — giving the platform a monetizable mechanism to control project access while ensuring supplier commitment. AWS S3 handles secure document exchange at every stage, and automated email notifications keep all parties updated without manual intervention. The structured status flow — Pending → Opened → Assigned → Closed — gives every project a clear, auditable path from submission to rated delivery.

  • Guided student submission form — project type, discipline, due date, word count, budget, and file attachments
  • Supplier marketplace — browse, bid on, and claim projects with credit-based access control
  • Admin dashboard — project approval, supplier moderation, promotion management, and full platform oversight
  • Credit system with purchasable packages and promotion code support
  • AWS S3 secure document exchange with signed URL access at every project stage
  • Automated transactional email notifications for every project status change
  • Supplier rating system and structured assignment status flow (Pending → Opened → Assigned → Closed)
  • Google OAuth and JWT authentication for secure multi-role access
